Soap Supply for 2011

I can't believe the last time I made handmade soaps for my family was in December 2007. We are almost running out of supply and the Christmas break was just the right time to make more.

I normally cure the soaps for 8-10 weeks, but of course, the longer it cures the better. So far, I have done 8 kilos but this is not enough for us to lasts the whole year. I think I will be making a few more kilos just to make sure.

Most of my soaps are made of goat's milk and 50% of the oils is Olive Oil. The essential oils I used in these batches of soap are Lavender, Mandarin, Grapefruit, Orange, and Lemon. I have also put in a bit of Cocoa Butter and Jojoba oils. In all of my soaps, I always put Tea Tree Oil.

Here are some of them which are now curing:

I'm super super tempted to try out soap-making. It sounds so fun, and how awesome to make a whole year's supply!!
Wow!
Do you have a particular recipe you follow?

Hi Lyndsey,
Yes I do have a recipe. It just depends on what type of soap you want. I did a lot of trial and error in the past, until I finally found the recipe that suited me and my family. You should try it out one day and you'll never go back to commercial soaps again!
Thanks for visiting my blog.
