Masterpieces

So today I took a break and relaxed. We went to Canberra to pick up my daughter (her last day after a 10 week stint) and proceeded to the National Gallery of Australia for the Masterpieces from Paris Exhibition. I heard that this was always packed but today wasn't that bad. For $25 entry you get to see the original paintings of Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, Monet and many, many Post-Impressionist painters. WOW, it was nothing like it!

Priceless works of art were all there to view and admire. Masterpieces from Paris: Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cézanne and beyond features 112 of some of the best-known works of modern art from the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.

This is the first time that these paintings are exhibited together outside France. The works of art usually reside at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, one of the great museums of 19th-century art, which each year draws millions of tourists to Paris.

And of course, my favorite of all is - Starry Night 1886 by Vincent Van Gogh. If you love the painting, you will love the original in real life all the more!

Unfortunately, no photography was allowed inside the exhibition so these pictures taken outside the museum were the closest I can get my hands on.
